There's an app for that...

Yesterday, I met with my clergy group, who are some of my favorite people ever. We were discussing the latest book we read - The Book of Not So Common Prayer by Linda McCullough Moore. We talked about practical things that each of us could do to pray more often in the month between this meeting and the next. Our discussion turned to which apps we could use to help with this process. A way to turn our affinity for our electronic devices into better connection with God. It's worth a try, right?

So here are the two that I downloaded.

Pray As You Go (available for both iOS and Android) - produced by the British Jesuits. There's a new 10-13 minute meditation for every weekday and one for the weekend. There's music and Scripture reading as well as questions for reflection. And their amazing accents are a bonus! Plus, this app is free!

Daily Prayer PC(USA) - from our very own denomination - an accessible way to carry the daily prayer sections of the Book of Common Worship right in your pocket for only $2.99. The app includes daily lectionary readings and liturgies for morning and evening prayer.

I plan to use both of these apps over the coming weeks. Let me know if there are others that you enjoy!
